Montepio - Our Brand

The Montepio brand reflects vitality, proximity, participation and responsibility - a project created by the people for people.

The brand's good reputation and members' confidence in the institution and the group, based on the reinforcement of its sustainability policy, especially its prudent, conservative management profile, constitute strategic aspects stimulating the performance achieved.

In 2011, theMontepio brand was once again voted «Brand of Excellence in Portugal» by Superbrands, an independent international organisation that promotes brands of excellence in 85 countries.



Montepio achieved first place in the European Satisfaction Index 2010 of Associação Portuguesa Para a Qualidade and Instituto Português da Qualidade (Ministry of the Economy and Employment).

The RepTrakTM Pulse 2011 survey conducted by the Reputation Institute placed Montepio in 56th place in the world rankings among 208 financial institutions.

Also with regard to the reputation of its brand, Montepio is considered by private customers and noncustomers to be the bank with the best standing in products and services, corporate governance and social responsibility.



In a strategy of continuing to support Portuguese cultural values and contributing to our brand's reputation, Montepio sponsors small monthly musical recitals (showcases) in the auditorium at its head office in Rua do Ouro in Lisbon. This fostered culture, helped performers, ranging from young unknowns to big names, and brought together customers, fans and the specialised press.
